1. Do you accept demos / are you currently signing bands?
Yes we do, but please don't contact us about it. To be blunt, we receive craploads of demos and press packages every day. It takes a long time to listen to every single one, but eventually we do it. If we hear something that interests us, we’ll contact you. Otherwise, you're probably too talented to be on Go-Kart anyway.
If you want to send us your demo or album you'd like us to release, please make sure you fulfil the following guidelines:
a) Music Submission
> please send us full demos (3 song stuff will not be considered) on CD/Vinyl/DVD
> do NOT send us MP3s via E-Mail when we have not explicitly asked to receive them
> include press, tour history, photos and other things that might be of value (we surely won't sign you when you are just sending funny toys or other gimmicks!)

b) Band-Performance
> you can play 40+ shows per year
> you are able to promote yourself even when you got signed to us
> you are willing to dedicate your life to music

Please note that we only work with bands with nice individuals as we think that running a record label is way more than just releasing records.

2. Who is distributing your records in Europe?
You will be able to get our stuff in Europe from the following distributions:
> Germany: Roughtrade (www.roughtrade.de)
> United Kingdom: Plastic Head (www.plastichead.com)
> Benelux: Bertus (www.bertus.com)
> France: Socadisc (www.socadisc.com)
> Spain: Dock (www.dock-land.com)
> Portugal: Rastilho (www.rastilho.com)
> Italy: Andromeda (www.andromedaischi.it)
> Switzerland: Irascible (www.irascible.ch)
> Sweden: Border (www.border.se)
> Greece: Soundforge (www.soundforgemusicgroup.com)
> Denmark: Target (www.targetdistribution.dk)
> Norway: Tuba (www.tubarec.com)
> Germany: Play It Again Sam (www.piasrecordings.de)
> Austria: Edel (www.edel.com)

If you distribute records in a territory that is not already covered, please get in touch with us.

3. I run a distro, mailorder, store - who do I contact?
We get tons of email and letters from kids who sell stuff at shows and have small distros that want to get stuff from us.

In case you are interested in our wholesale catalog, please get in touch with David.

Here’s the catch - we don't work on consignment, so you have to pay up front for what you want to take. Later on we can give you credit for items you want to return (within reason).

You can also order our stuff through our distributors europe-wide.

4. I have (write for) a zine / do a radio show - who do I contact about ads and records to review?
Generally it helps us a lot if you send an actual copy of your zine to the following address:
Go-Kart Records Europe
PO Box 120750
68058 Mannheim
Germany
In case you are running a webzine, please Email Nicole with some details about your publication such as Visitors & PageViews.
Radios should also email us their playlists and send us contact information.

5. I want to place an order online - but my country is not listed. What can I do?
At present, if your country is not listed, we cannot ship goods to this country, sorry.

6. Where can I buy your records?
You will be able to find our releases from small mom&pop record stores to bigger chains europe-wide. If for some reason your local store does not carry our stuff, please let us know and we will fix this. You can drop us a line by clicking here. If you cannot wait, just use our webstore and save a few bucks anyway.

7. Can you send me free stuff?
How can we put this gently... HELL NO! Look, we’re nice people but we also have bills to pay. If you want a catalog, and the one on the web ain't good enough, send us a self-addressed stamped envelope. Same goes for stickers. It’s a matter of consideration; after all… we ain't a major label.

8. How can I check out Go-Kart Records USA?
Our big brother Go-Kart Records U.S.A can be found on the web by heading over to www.gokartrecords.com. If you hate the Internet and if you are still able to write letters, feel free to contact the folks over there by writing to:
Go-Kart Records
PO Box 20
Prince Street Station
New York, NY 10012
USA

9. I love Go-Kart Records! I would love to intern for them. But how do I go about that?
Well, if you are between the ages of 18 and 26, you might qualify for an internship here. Being able to read, write, and spell your own name will put you head and shoulders above many of our previous interns.
As an intern you can learn the Ins, Outs, ups and downs of an independent record company, and maybe have some fun while being berated by the rest of us. Inquiries can be sent via Email to David.

10. What happened to the LUNACHICKS?
We’re not sure what their status as a band is right now, but some of the members have new bands you might want to check out. Gina is now fronting BANTAM (www.bantamnyc.com), Theo has a solo project (www.ilovetheo.com), and Squid is in a band called “Team Squid” that we don’t know much about. Gina is also rumored to be a part of NYC all-girl TURBONEGRO tribute band along with members of the WIVES and NASHVILLE PUSSY, but we can’t confirm or deny that at this point!

11. How can I contact Go-Kart?

12. When can I see your band live in my town?
Well, we do not know. But what we do know is that we are keeping this website up-to-date. So please check back very often for the latest tourdates, info and shit chatting about our bands or try our forums.

13. Does Go-kart have a street team?
Yes we do. If you are responsible and we don't have someone in your area you may be the person we are looking for. You'll get posters to put up all over in your town and you'll also get some free stuff. Please sign up to the Go-Kart streetteam list (on the frontpage) and email Nicole the following information:
> Full name
> Date of Birth
> Street
> Zip
> City
> Country
> E-mail
> Website
> Messenger
> Profession
> Own a car?
> Information about your local music scene
> Name some cool record/lifestyle stores/venues in your area

14. I heard you guys are doing DVDs as well?
What can we say? All the rumours are true. With Go-Kart Films, we are trying to help indie filmmakers to get their work released on DVD etc. We have already released some quite successful documentaries in the USA and we are continueing to give talent a platform. Form more information on Go-Kart Films, please head over to www.GoKartFilms.com. You can also mailorder most of the DVD in our Webstore. That is when you are from Europe: http://www.gokartrecords.de/store.php?%26PAGE=cat%26id=6.

15. I heard Go-Kart is offering merchandise printing in Europe? Can you print my stuff too?
Absolutely. We launched our merchandise printing service in Europe in January 2008. Under the name Enough Merch you can have your stuff printed. We do unique prints as well as large prints. You should also check out our webstore as well as the Enough Merch myspace page ! Special offers and further information here.
